Why choose a Mind Room Coach?
Carl JungWho looks outside dreams; who looks inside awakes.
Anyone can call themselves a ‘coach’. It requires no specific training or registration to hang up your shingle and start a coaching business. The coaching industry can be a little Wild West – so it is worth doing your research and checking your coaches credentials and experience.
Experienced psychologists
Our coaches are all registered psychologists, which guarantees that they have a minimum of 6 years training and supervised practice before they can even register to call themselves a psychologist. They are also required, as part of their psychology registration, to engage in ongoing professional development. As a regulated profession, psychologists are not allowed to work in areas outside of their competency or risk losing their registration.
Evidence based practice
This psychology training also means that they are prepared to deliver evidence based psychological knowledge and skills. They are experts in evaluating, interpreting and applying psychological research. They are able to discern best practice and not just deliver the latest fad or pseudo psychology approach.
Performance and wellbeing focus
While psychologists are often associated with diagnosis and treatment of mental ill health, they also work with people to realise strengths, maximise performance potential and build mental fitness and flexibility. They support individuals and groups to navigate challenges and setbacks as much as realise strengths and maximise opportunities to flourish.
Workplace Experience
Our coaches come with a variety of workplace understanding and experience. They have the privilege of getting an inside perspective on the lives of the professional athlete or performing artist through to the Boardroom executive. They have worked with high performing individuals and teams and understand the transferable knowledge and skills that help people to perform in any life context.
Tailored to you
Our coaching packages are tailored to meet your needs and goals. The first session sets the scene, gaining an understanding of the context you operate in and your motivation for choosing coaching. Together you establish the goals you are working toward and how you will work together – communication platforms, session frequency and coaching style.
Pace and Timing
You may have pressing challenges that require immediate attention and longer sessions to work it through. Or you may just need shorter fortnightly check-ins to reflect on and monitor progress. Each client is a little different and your coach will recommend an approach based on your context and needs.
Coach or Senior Coach
Mind Room coaches are registered psychologists with 9+ years of training and experience and engage in ongoing professional development and supervised practice. Our senior coaches have 15+ years of experience – there is not much they have not seen or dealt with in the world of human behaviour, performance and wellbeing.
Comprehensive understanding
So if you are seeking a Coach who has a comprehensive knowledge of the mind and human behaviour, understands the world of work, and can empower you with sustainable performance and wellbeing skills, then you are in the right place.
