Senior Mental Health Clinician

Location: Collingwood, Victoria (Hybrid/telehealth)
Employment Type: Part-time (3-4 days) to Full-time (5 days per week)
Salary: Award based salary under Health Professionals and Support Services Award [MA000027] as a Health Professional (level 2 – 3+ dependent on experience); we pay above award rate salaries, with additional increases for endorsements

The Role
Working as part of our collaborative Clinic Team, you’ll manage a diverse client caseload, deliver evidence-based therapies, and play a key role in shaping positive outcomes for clients and the broader community. This role offers flexibility, professional development opportunities, and the chance to work in a purpose-built venue designed to support excellence in mental health care.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Support: Assess, treat, and refer clients experiencing psychological disorders, life adjustments, and wellbeing challenges, utilising evidence-based approaches such as ACT, CBT, DBT, Schema Therapy, or EMDR.
- Caseload Management: Maintain a client caseload aligned with billable targets, supported by our in-house reception and admin teams.
- Mentorship: Provide feedback and appraisals to junior clinicians, fostering their growth and improving client outcomes.
- Risk Management: Conduct mental health risk assessments and implement interventions for complex cases, including suicide prevention and trauma care.
- Collaboration and Learning: Actively participate in peer supervision, professional development, and team events, contributing to The Mind Room’s vibrant community.
About You
You are an experienced, compassionate professional with a passion for providing client-focused care. You value collaboration, continuous learning, and the opportunity to support others in achieving their mental health goals. You bring:
- Expertise: 7+ years of clinical experience, including 3+ years in a specialised area such as trauma, neurodiversity, couples therapy, or EAP services.
- Qualifications: AHPRA-registered psychologist or AASW-accredited mental health social worker with Medicare registration.
- Therapeutic Approach: Proficiency in third-wave cognitive-behavioural therapies, including ACT, CBT, and DBT.
- Leadership Skills: Experience mentoring or supervising junior clinicians.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with private practice settings, EAP services, and Medicare systems.
