Psychlings Podcast - talking to the future
Dr SeussUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.
We don’t ever want to take for granted the dedication and effort it takes to become a psychologist or mental health professional. Part of our mission at The Mind Room is to support those going through the process of becoming a registered psychologist on their journey.
We do this in a number of ways, including providing supervised training for provisional psychologists, with over 40 having come though our doors since we opened. So we were thrilled to be invited to contribute to the Psychlings Podcast with Byron McCaughey and Yu “Dazz” Liu from Melbourne University.
Psychlings is a resource for future psychologists. Together Byron and Dazz interview Professors and Clinicians to explore the latest thinking in psychological practice, research and education.
In episode 17 they caught up with one of The Mind Room co-founders and psychologists, Dr Jo Mitchell. The episode explored:
- Lessons from a decade running a psychology private practice
- Finding the right partner to launch a business with
- The importance of language when working with clients
- Coaching vs therapy
- Why our client aims should be thriving, not just surviving
…and so much more.
Thanks to Dazz and Byron for caring enough to want to make a difference and creating this podcast for all future mental health professionals to learn, grow and be inspired.
