Patrick Carey
Who I work with
I work with young adults and adults seeking support for a range of mental health concerns. I support individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, addiction and life challenges, and those wanting to build a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
What people come to see me for
- Anxiety, panic and OCD
- Depression and mood concerns
- Trauma and stress-related difficulties
- Substance use and addiction
- Gambling and problematic behaviours
- Grief and loss
- Meaning, values and personal growth
How I work
I take a collaborative and strengths-based approach to therapy. I draw on evidence-based methods including CBT, ACT, Cognitive Processing Therapy and mindfulness-based approaches. Together, we work to understand what’s going on, build practical skills, and support you to move towards your own version of recovery.
A little about me
I’m a Clinical Psychologist trained at the University of Adelaide, with experience across private practice, inpatient and outpatient mental health services, and community rehabilitation. I value building warm, trusting relationships and creating a space where you feel understood and supported.
