Melissa Thomas
Melissa has a warm, compassionate and playful nature. She aims to provide a safe, accepting and enjoyable space to connect authentically with clients. She supports her clients to uncover their hopes for the future, and to understand the internal and external barriers to their personal and relational growth.
Melissa works with a range of presenting concerns, with particular interest in relationships and interpersonal difficulties and associated problems such as: depression, low self-esteem, assertiveness, anxiety, stress, perfectionism, burnout, life stages and transitions, parenting, and identity. She works with adolescents, adults and couples from all walks of life.
Melissa uses an integrative counselling approach drawing from interventions including: Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. She is currently training in Schema Therapy.
In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors and dancing up a storm.
