Self-Employed Psychologists & Social Workers - Become a Mind Room Partner

We are seeking Psychologists or Mental Health Care Social Workers who are looking for an inviting, supportive, and beautiful space to run their own practice from for 3 or more days per week.

- Engagement Type: Independent contractor (GST-registered)
- Availability: Minimum 3 days per week, with preference for evening and/or Saturday availability
About The Mind Room
The Mind Room is a leading mental health, wellbeing, and performance psychology practice based in Melbourne. Since 2012, we have supported individuals, couples, communities and businesses through therapy, coaching, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), Athlete Assistance Programs (AAP), training, and consultancy. At The Mind Room, we’re growing with purpose, working to transform mental healthcare by making affirming, sustainable support widely accessible, with a strong client engagement footprint and meaningful impact for those who need it most.
Our clinic space includes an inviting waiting room managed by a friendly front-of-house team, 14 comfortable consultation rooms and 3 telehealth pods.In the spacious back-of-house co-working area, you’ll find an abundance of natural light, lush greenery, shared books and resources, and the comforting presence of Hugo, our beloved therapy dog. The space also includes a versatile studio/lounge for workshops or relaxed “bean bag time,” and a fully equipped kitchen stocked with AllPress coffee and a variety of teas. Who We’re Looking For
We welcome expressions of interest from psychologists and mental health social workers who:
- Have at least three days of availability per week (including evenings and/or Saturdays)
- Are looking for a professional, flexible, and supportive environment to run their own practice
- Value autonomy, ethical care, and a strong sense of community
- Are GST-registered and operate under their own ABN

- Consulting rooms available in sessional blocks (from $10 + GST per session)
- Optional access to telehealth booths and clinical tools (e.g., Coviu, Novo Psych, Measurely)
- Warm, professional reception, billing, appointment scheduling, and IT support
- Access to Common Areas and purpose-designed client waiting spaces along with a large community hub space to catch up on admin, collaborate, and connect
Transparent Fee Structure
- Percentage-based fee for administrative and support services, from as low as 25% calculated as a portion of client fees (plus GST)
- Fixed fees for room hire and optional software use, starting at just $10 + GST per session
- Pay only for the services and facilities you use, no lock-ins, or packages required
Supportive Community and Autonomy
- Maintain full clinical independence while benefiting from shared infrastructure
- Set your own hours, fees, and client load
- Participate in reflective practice and team events (optional)
Who You Are
- AHPRA-registered psychologist or AASW-accredited mental health social worker
- Medicare-registered and carrying appropriate professional indemnity insurance
- Confident operating under an independent contractor agreement
- Interested in being part of a warm, affirming, and professional practice
