Hiring - Mental Health Practitioner
Are you a Melbourne-based Psychologist or Mental Health Social Worker with experience delivering Employee Assistance and other workplace service programs? Looking to join a well-established, friendly team of mental healthcare professionals?
We deliver therapeutic services to empower individuals, organisations, and communities to not just survive, but thrive, and we are looking for practitioners who have an understanding of Employee Assistance Program (EAP) requirements and are committed to industry best practices.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience providing individual psychology services to adults, ideally within a private practice or EAP setting. This role is a mix of client facing psychological service provision (approx. 55%) and clinical/client administration (approx. 20%) and other professional development, project and administration work (approx. 25%).

- Have experience delivering EAP or workplace services and an understanding of contributing factors to workplace mental health such as, stress, burnout, bullying, workplace relationships and communication, neurodivergence, performance management, and organisational factors.
- Want to grow and develop your skills alongside peers by attending, hosting, and/or facilitating peer supervision sessions.
- Are organised and dedicated to completing daily client administration accurately, in a timely manner and to professional standards.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and use them to build and manage professional relationships in a warm and engaging manner.
- Possess a high level of accountability and integrity, this role requires management of sensitive information and an ability to act ethically and with professional competence.
- Have training and experience assessing and managing risk in adults with mental ill health.

The Mind Room is a mental health, wellbeing, and performance psychology practice based in Collingwood Victoria and established in 2012 by Dr Jo Mitchell and Michael Inglis. Our underpinning philosophy and values are outlined here.
We offer therapy and coaching to individuals and couples who come to The Mind Room for mental health and wellbeing support. We also provide services to organisations including Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), training, coaching and consulting. We work with values-driven businesses, especially those operating within the health, sports, creative, and for-purpose sectors. We aim to achieve one million client engagement hours by 2035.
Located in a purpose-built venue that includes 14 consulting rooms, three telehealth pods, a studio for workshops, and multiple shared and individual spaces to accommodate connection and quiet work as required.Our reception, intake, and administration teams support the smooth running of daily clinic operations. A regular peer supervision program and professional development opportunities are available to employees.

- Remuneration: Per the Health Professionals and Support Services Award [MA000027] as a Health Professional Level 2-4 / Pay Point 1 – 5 (dependent on experience); we pay above award rate salaries, with additional increases for endorsements.
How You’ll Contribute
We’re looking for individuals who have a genuine interest and motivation to learn, grow, and apply psychological knowledge and experience as a means of improving the lives of others. You’ll be responsible for;
- Supporting Clients: Assess, treat and refer clients experiencing psychological disorders, adjustment to life events, enhancing wellbeing.
- Caseload Management & Administration: Manage client engagement, retention, and discharge/archive clients as appropriate and ensure that daily client administration is done accurately and promptly. Understanding of and compliance with Employee Assistance Program (EAP) requirements and best practice.
- Team Player: Providing project and administration support to your Team Lead or Manager, as delegated.
- Learning, Growing, and Contributing: Meet registration requirements for ongoing professional development and supervision. Attend, host and/or facilitate as part of the in-house peer supervision program.
